The Artistic Debut For Mario Luis Is Enticing, As It Is Diverse. He Hopes That His Audience Enjoys And Savors His Music In The Same Fashion As He does When Writing And Performing.
Mario Luis started singing at age nine with the school choir in his native country El Salvador. In 1975 he moved to the United States and within a year he became a member of the nationally acclaimed San Francisco Boys Chorus performing throughout Northern California. At age 17 he learned to play the guitar and minor percussion instruments. Enhanced by his enthusiasm for music, he began creating and writing songs.
In 1992 he flourished in his song writing and began to participate in recognized talent shows. The victorious outcome not only came from his talent as a singer but also as writer. "Un Dia My Especial(song written in honor of Mother's Day) and "Corazon Corazon" were semifinalists in the 13th & 14th Festival de La Cancion Latino Americana respectively. In 1994 "Sin Tu Amor was finalist in the Festival Oti.
Mario Luis is a versatile and charming artist who has composed, recorded and produced his music. As a talented singer/author he offers melodies of Salsa, Merenque, Cumbia, Ballads, Pop and other rhythems. His focus is to capture audiences of all ages. His songs have been played on local radio stations and night clubs. He has been sought to accompany local and international groups within the entertainment industry. His performance repertoire consists of venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area at numerous events, SAFEWAY Street Festival, "Viva Las Americas"; Chinese New Year Festival, 16th Street Salsa Party; Kaiser Permanente 25th Anniversary, Channel 14 KDTV/KSOL Cinco de Mayo Celebration, Ruben Dario Cultural Society and MECA Presentations. He also participated and coordinated many fundraiser events for humanitarian aid to Central America, Mexico, India and the United States.
